With Berrien County expected to receive around $29.8 million in funding from the American Rescue Plan Act, or ARPA, the board of commissioners is bringing in some help to manage some of that money. During Thursday’s meeting, the board hired Public Sector Consultants to discern how the funds can be spent based on federal guidelines and how much lost county revenue can be replaced with ARPA dollars. The Michigan Association of Counties has qualified Public Sector Consultants for that kind of work. The cost of its services to the county will be $3,500.
