The YMCA of Greater Michiana will hold a ribbon cutting for a new addition to its new location in Niles this week. Work on the new $2.6 million, 14,000 square foot addition started in June of last year, and it includes a gym, a youth room, a teen room, a fitness studio, a wellness room, a personal training mezzanine, and office space. The ribbon cutting to celebrate the project’s completion is this Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Niles-Buchanan YMCA on North Front Street in Niles. The YMCA says the new space will provide age-appropriate activities for young people to learn, grow, and thrive in a productive environment. The space will also allow for more programming. The ribbon cutting Tuesday is part of a Business After Hours co-hosted by the Greater Niles Chamber of Commerce and the Buchanan Area Chamber of Commerce. Those who want to attend can RSVP with the chambers.
