St. Joseph Public Schools will host a couple of presentations this month on diversity, equity, and inclusion with students, parents, staff, and the community. Dr. Adolph Brown will present “Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Action” at the John and DeDe Howard Auditorium at St. Joseph High School. During two presentations on Monday, October 18, Brown will explore the prejudice of making decisions solely based on outward appearances and their cost on meaningful encounters. He’ll guide guests on a journey to provide opportunities for self-exploration of implicit biases and provide the tools to adjust automatic patterns of thinking to help reduce discrimination. The engagements will be at 3 p.m. and at 6 p.m. They are possible thanks to a partnership between St. Joseph Public Schools, the St. Joseph Public Schools Foundation, and United Federal Credit Union.
