A 30-year-old Cass County man will be sentenced in December to 25 to 45 years in prison for killing a man outside the Elements on Main Apartments on West Main Street in Kalamazoo in February. Jordan Johnson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, felony firearms and possession of a firearm by a felon in a deal with Kalamazoo County prosecutors. He shot and killed 64-year-old Michael Vines and confessed it was over jealousy that his child and its mother had moved in with Vines that day. Johnson has remained in the Kalamazoo County Jail since the February 25 shooting.
