Open enrollment for health insurance has begun and you may want to double check your plan. Jason Resendez is a board member for Consumers for Quality Care and told Michigan News Network there have been changes to COVID-19 coverage.
“At one point if you were hospitalized due to COVID, you’re co-pays and hospital costs were waived. That is no longer the case in many places. So it’s really important to be aware of whether or not your insurer is rolling back that kind of coverage, and as you shop around or plans, whether or not that is also taking place with the plans you’re shopping around for.”
Resendez says tele-health services may be scaled back as well. The 2022 Open Enrollment Period runs through Saturday, January 15, 2022.
