A group of state lawmakers are introducing as series of bills they call the the Reproductive Health Act. It’s backed by members of the Michigan Progressive Women’s Caucus. Dr. Sarah Wallett with Planned Parenthood of Michigan says it’s crucial to pass the legislation.
“The Reproductive Health Act will clear Michigan’s books of outdated, unnecessary, and harmful restrictions that prevent me from providing the care to my patients that they deserve, and it will ensure that we can all make private decisions about our health, family, and future without government interference.”
The Michigan Reproductive Health Act, or RHA, would guarantee individuals freedom to make decisions about their own reproductive health. That includes whether to have an abortion.
