The St. Joseph Bears football team will play in the state semi finals for just the fourth time in school history Saturday. The Bears will play the DeWitt Panthers at 1 p.m. at Jenison High School, southwest of Grand Rapids. Parents are organizing a send off for the team in the morning. The buses leave the high school at 8:30 a.m. and anyone wishing to help send them off is asked to be there by 8:15 a.m. with signs and noise makers They are also working on police and fire escorts. The last time the Bears got this far in the playoffs was 2007, and they have only advanced past this to the state championship in 1988.
