Two days after the deadly shooting at Oxford High School, the superintendent of Oxford Community Schools released a video statement Thursday evening. During his message, Superintendent Tim Throne discussed the reopening of the high school after 15-year-old student Ethan Crumbley allegedly opened fire, leaving four students dead and seven others injured.

“I’m not sure how long, but it will be weeks probably before this building is ready,” Throne said. “I spoke with the governor today, and she has told me that she will do everything in her power to open up the supply chains to get us the resources we need to begin putting this building back in order.”

Throne said the high school is a “wreck” right now, describing it as being “like a war zone.” He added that’s OK because that means staff and police handled the situation as they should have. After Thorne recorded his message, he spoke with the families of those who died.
