Michigan Democrats held a news conference Thursday in Detroit to promote spending in the state that will come with passage of the $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure plan as well as to encourage passage of President Biden’s “Build Back Better” bill, which is still being debated in Washington. Among those who spoke was state Senator Stephanie Chang of Detroit, who explained why she feels both of the initiatives are necessary for the state of Michigan.

“We’ve got Michiganders who deserve our bridges to be repaired, our potholes to be fixed, our broadband to be better, our ports to be cleaner, and so much more,” Change said. “So, I think we want to act as swiftly as we can.”

However, it looks like that a vote on the “Build Back Better” plan won’t happen until after the New Year. Discussions continue on elements of the bill, including the Child Tax Credit.
