Set for next summer is the Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff in St. Joseph. Krasl Art Center Director Julia Gourley Donohue told St. Joseph City Commissioners this past week this will be the 60th year for the event at Lake Bluff Park. She said the plan for 2022 is to do a repeat of 2021, when the event became gated and cost $5 to enter.

“Last year, we ran an ever-changing event to get us through COVID, and it was incredibly successful.”

Gourley said the ticketed option attracted about 14,000 people this year compared to the usual 50,000 to 60,000, but it was easier to manage and safer. She said it also made the fair a true fundraiser for the Krasl, which is what the fair was always supposed to be. She noted anyone who wants to get in for free can do so on request, and no requests to that effect were denied this year. Commissioners approved the Krasl’s use of the park for the summer event.
