President Biden has announced that 500 million rapid home testing kits will be made available to help in the fight against COVID-19. Governor Gretchen Whitmer was asked when people in Michigan might be able to get those tests.
“We have been working really hard to be sure we have rapid tests available through the state, so this is a welcome addition to the arsenal we have been deploying to keep people safe. I think this is an important thing as we see how incredibly contagious omicron is.”
Governor Whitmer says because the omicron variant is so contagious, that means more people will get it, putting more strain on hospitals. The governor says that’s why it’s so vital that everyone get vaccinated and get their booster shots.
