YouthBuild Benton Harbor is planning an open house for anyone age 16 to 24 interested in earning money while working toward their high school diploma or GED. YouthBuild is a program partly funded by the U.S. Department of Labor that offers training and certification in several fields, including construction and healthcare. The open house will take place at the Next Level Tech Center on East Main Street in Benton Harbor on Wednesday, February 16 from 2 to 6 p.m. There will be food and prizes for those who get first or second place in a three point challenge. YouthBuild Benton Harbor Director Dwane West says they want to show young adults in Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties a great time, but they also want to get those young people connected to resources. He says they offer services like access to transportation, food, childcare, and more. Registration is not needed to attend the open house.
