The Whirlpool Foundation has announced the appointment of a new managing director. Deb O’Connor will move into the role. She also serves as the director of Corporate Reputation and Community Relations for Whirlpool Corporation, where she helps lead programs supporting communities in which Whirlpool is located. The Whirlpool Foundation aims to help communities where it operates by following two priorities, which are called house and home. House refers to having an actual place to live, and home looks to improve the broader area. O’Connor has done work on donations and volunteerism for organizations including the United Way, Boys and Girls Clubs, Habitat for Humanity, Benton Harbor, Lakeshore and St. Joseph schools, and the First Tee program. Whirlpool Foundation President Michel Todman says she was the perfect choice to serve as managing director.
