Now underway is the annual 97.5 Y Country St. Jude Radiothon. Y Country morning host Matt Malone tells WSJM News this is the 17th year the station has raised money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It treats children with cancer for free.
“For something that is obviously devastating for so many families, it’s two days that we look forward to every year because we know the impact that we have on our community and also beyond because St. Jude is really every hospital, including here in southwest Michigan,” Malone said.
Malone says it’s amazing to have the opportunity to help raise money for such a great charity.
“In the total amount for every year that we’ve done thins, we’ve raised over a half million dollars…Last year alone was $36,000.”
