This will be welcome news to all drivers in Michigan. Governor Gretchen Whitmer has signed an executive directive to speed up pothole repairs. Michigan Department of Transportation Director Paul Ajegba told Michigan News Network what it’ll mean.

“She’s directing MDOT to treat it just like we treat a snowstorm, which means work around the clock to respond to potholes that are reported to us.”

Ajegba says there’s a lot of needs and not enough funding for infrastructure. Whitmer’s directive orders M-DOT to speed up pothole repairs on state trunkline highways. That means highways with an I , US, or M prefix.
