The infrastructure bill signed this week by Governor Gretchen Whitmer includes funds for a bridge replacement project in Mattawan. State Representative Beth Griffin of Mattawan says replacing the bridge on County Road 652, which is called Main Street in town, has long been a top priority for the community. $1.1 million is in the infrastructure package for that work. Griffin says it’s “a great example of how we are putting resources to work in ways that will benefit our community.” The $4.8 billion infrastructure package signed this week by the governor includes $2 billion to eliminate lead and PFAS in water, $380 million for state and local road projects, $250 million for broadband, and $250 million for parks projects.
