A Michigan woman is riding her bike 3,100 miles to raise awareness and money about Alzheimer’s disease in memory of her mother, who died from the disease in 2010. 64-year-old Sue Wilson of Tecumseh re-started the effort recently. She spoke with Michigan News Network.

“The ride began in San Diego, California, and will be finishing in St. Augustine in Florida,” Wilson said. “We actually started the ride in 2020 in March and we lasted about two weeks before it had to be shut down because of COVID.”

Wilson has made it half way and will be in Florida on May 4. She is raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association Michigan Chapter. You can donate at ALZ.org/LongestDay. She says her mom would approve of the effort because she loved adventure.
