A judge has denied a motion to reduce bond for the jailed parents of the teen accused of carrying out a shooting rampage at Oxford High School in Oakland County. James and Jennifer Crumbley were in court Tuesday in hopes of lowering their bond so they can be released from jail while they await trial on manslaughter charges. Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Cheryl Matthews made her decision based in part on their decision to elude arrest.

“The series of actions by the defendants and the resulting manhunt support the prosecution’s proposition that the defendants were fleeing the jurisdiction,” Matthews said.

Judge Matthews proposed a trial date of October 24. Meanwhile, the Crumbley’s defense attorneys say they will seek a change of venue in the case.
