Sunday, July 3 will mark the return of the Light Up The Lake Fireworks for South Haven. The city council last night unanimously approved the show. Mayor Scott Smith says New Buffalo and St. Joseph are holding theirs the same night.
“We’ve already started working out the logistics with Melrose Pyrotechnical as far as actually arranging the show itself, so that’s the good news,” says Smith. “It’s on the third because really this is for the locals and a lot of us have to work, so we don’t always get the day after the 4th of July off most of us have to work. We try to get them on the 3rd as most of us have the 4th off.”
This is the first fireworks show for the Fourth of July in South Haven in several years due to COVID-19 and high water on Lake Michigan.
