GM Earns $2.9 Billion In First Quarter

After making $2.9 billon in the first quarter, General Motors CEO Mary Barra predicting a strong year ahead. She sees demand for vehicles remaining good, the chip situation improving, and GM able to make about 25% more cars and trucks this year, compared to last year.

“I think we’re seeing improvements across all of the vehicles because we are seeing a better supply of semiconductors for our products,” says Barra. “I think we’re gonna start to see the full portfolio that we have and again it I think it speaks to the fact that our products are in great demand.”

Barra sees GM earning between $9.6 and $11.2 billion for the full year.
