The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department says an arrest has been made in a March, 2018 murder in Geneva Township. The department tells us 47-year-old Shaun Pierre Gill was found dead of a gunshot wound in his home at the Ports of Call mobile home park on March 1 of 2018. After an investigation of the sheriff’s department, the FBI, the Pokagon Tribal Police Department, Michigan State Police, the Covert Township Police Department, and the South Haven City Police Department, 37-year-old Jonathan Batiste Anderson was arrested Friday in Niles. In addition, warrants have been issued for 32-year-old Patrick James Watkins and 31-year-old Roxanne Mills, both of whom are both currently housed as inmates with the Michigan Department of Corrections. Anderson was arraigned Monday in Van Buren County and no bond was set. Van Buren County Sheriff Dan Abbot says the arrest came after “long hours, days, months and years of hard work into this homicide investigation.” He says hundreds of interviews were conducted and he’s proud of everyone who worked on the investigation.
