The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island opens for the season tomorrow. David Jurcak is president of operations for the hotel.
“Huge excitement, not only for us, but across the island,” says Jurcak. “You see more businesses and life coming up to the island and more and more people are opening up. For us, entering our 135th year and our 136th season, we couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity.”
Jurcak says they have a new Woodlands Activity Center with a greenhouse, pickleball and bocce ball courts and a miniature golf course that will open later in June. He says staffing has been a concern like it is nationwide, but he says it’ll be adequate to take care of their guests. He’s expecting even more visitors this season than last season.
