Governor Gretchen Whitmer was the keynote speaker at this year’s Mackinac Policy Conference. On Thursday she said she’s concerned about what she sees happening across the country and the world.
“As I look around the world, I am worried and I know many of you are, too. Too many of us devote far too much time and attention to ‘anger-tainment.’ Too many mimic divisive rhetoric to score cheap points or achieve short-term goals. Today, too often ideology prevails over ideas. I don’t have time for that, and I sure as hell don’t wanna live that way.”
She also talked about her education budget during her address and urged lawmakers to pass the budget on time.
