Pedestrians, boaters and vehicle drivers may have to be extra patient in the hours surrounding South Haven’s fireworks show on July 3.

The city of South Haven Police Department announced Wednesday that the Dyckman Bridge will be closed from 9:30 p.m. until after the fireworks are over. At 9:30, marine patrol units will close the Black River channel to boat traffic as well.

The fireworks are scheduled to begin at about 10:25 p.m. and last about 20 minutes. After the show is over, the bridge will remain open for pedestrian and vehicle traffic for about 30 minutes. At 11:15 p.m., the bridge will be raised to allow boat traffic to pass for about one hour.

Vehicle and pedestrian traffic will not be able to cross the bridge until boat traffic has cleared.
