If you were still planning to go camping at a state park over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, you better get cracking. DNR Parks & Recreation chief, Ron Olson, says they’re 94.5% booked.

“I would suggest that they go to parks that aren’t as popular as some would think,” says Olson. “For example, Ludington and Grand Haven it’s unlikely someone would get in there. Sometimes we have late cancelations so you can scout places like that.”

Olson says camping has been very popular since the pandemic began.
