There will be a grand opening this month for the new Sesquicentennial Trail in South Haven. The South Haven and Van Buren County Convention and Visitors Bureau says the trail is thanks to a collaboration with the Historical Association of South Haven in recognition of the Pure Michigan Trails affiliation. The trail was brought to life by Kayla Wyszynski Ridley and conceived in 2019 to commemorate South Haven’s celebration of 150 years on May 10, 2019. Everyone’s invited to stroll the trail and take in the scenery of Stanley Johnston Park while reading about 150 years of South Haven’s history. You can also view artwork by Wyszynski Ridley. The official opening and ribbon cutting ceremony will be Friday, July 15 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Stanley Johnston Park at the corner of Black River and Dyckman. Those who attend will be treated to ice cream and popcorn.
