A worker for the Berrien County Road Department is dead following workplace incident on Wednesday. Berrien County Administrator Brian Dissette tells us it happened around 3:30 p.m. and the worker was killed while performing his duties on behalf of the road department. Dissette can’t release the worker’s name pending notification of kin, and specifics on the incident have not yet been released as the police investigation remains open. Dissette says all Berrien County Road Department facilities will be closed for the rest of the week. Additionally, all Berrien County Board of Commissioners meetings scheduled for Thursday] are canceled. More information is likely to be released in the coming days.
