The Berrien County Road Department will be closed Tuesday for employees to attend the funeral of a coworker who was killed last week when he was struck by a vehicle while on the job. 57-year-old Mack Isom of Baroda was struck while cutting up a tree branch that fell into Red Bud Trail in Oronoko Township Wednesday. He was hit by a drunk driver. The road department remained closed for the rest of last week in his honor, and it’s closed again Tuesday. Additionally, the department says that Niles Road between M-63 and M-139 will be closed to traffic for several hours Tuesday morning. It has not said exactly during which hours the road will be closed. Drivers are advised to be prepared.
