Police Identify Victims In Plane Crash Near South Haven

Two men who died in a plane crash in South Haven Township have been identified. The South Haven Police Department says 70-year-old David Peahl of Wayland and 70-year-old Douglas Golike of Lawton were killed when their Piper Aerostar 600 crashed about a mile from the South Haven Regional Airport on Tuesday. The crash occurred shortly after takeoff. The plane went down in a wooded area near 12th Avenue and 72nd Street. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating, and South Haven police say they thank all the residents, pilots, and emergency responders who helped respond to the crash.
