A celebration is planned for this month for the Krasl Art Center to mark the 20th anniversary of the sculpture, And You, Seas by Richard Hunt. The 50-foot sculpture rises from the south pier of Silver Beach County Park and welcomes visitors to the community as they approach by boat and on foot. It’s made of stainless steel and has endured all kinds of weather along the lake since 2002. The party on August 23 will be on the 20th anniversary of the dedication of And You, Seas. The Krasl says artist Richard Hunt will be there, and the event will feature artmaking, poetry, a live steel drum performance, boat rides, and refreshments. There will also be what Krasl is calling a “very special announcement.” The celebration will be held at Shadowland Pavilion the evening of the 23rd from 5 p.m. through sunset.
