The Berrien County Health Department is receiving funding from the state to help prevent monkeypox from spreading in the county. The Berrien County Board of Commissioners on Thursday voted to accept $15,000 from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services for monkeypox virus response. The funding will be used for staff time, communications, and wraparound services. So far, there haven’t been any monkeypox cases found in Berrien, Cass, or Van Buren counties. The board of commissioners accepted the funding without comment.
