The tunnel used by players to enter Michigan Stadium will be named the Lloyd Carr Tunnel after the last football coach to win a national championship. The university will dedicate it before the game against Penn State on October 15. Carr attended the Board of Regents meeting yesterday when it was announced and called the tunnel “hallowed ground.” He became an assistant coach in 1980 and served 13 seasons as head coach, winning five Big Ten conference titles and the 1997 national championship.
