The Friends of the Kal-Haven Trail will be naming their first “Friends of the Trail” at their annual meeting Monday evening. It will be held at the Driftbuster Snowmobile Club in Gobles starting at 6 pm. Van Buren County Commissioner Dick Godfrey, former Visit South Haven executive director Scott Reinert, Kal-Haven Trail and Van Buren State Park DNR seasonal worker Martin Sell, Michigan History Center Heritage Trails Program manager Dan Spegel and the Friends of the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail will all be named “Friends of the Trail.” The organization says each have shown exemplary care and dedication for the Kal-Haven Trail and deserve to be recognized by them and the greater community, tourists, and area residents who have benefited from their efforts.
