Van Buren County Election Results 2022: Senior millage passes by 2 votes

With all of the votes tallied, Van Buren County voters have spoken on a number of proposals.

In Bangor Township, a senior services millage proposal has passed by just two votes, according to electionreporting.com. The proposal will generate nearly $70,000 in funds to be paid to Senior Services of Van Buren County for providing activities and general senior services through 2029.

In the city of Bangor, voters approved a cemetery millage renewal for the maintenance and improvement of roads, structures and signage located in Arlington Hill Cemetery. The millage will raise about $19,000, and continue through 2027.

Columbia Township voters struck down a ballot proposal that would have increased the operating millage, while Lawrence Township residents voted against a millage proposal to raise money for parks, trails, recreation improvements and development. In Waverly Township, voters approved a millage renewal for services to individuals who are age 60 and older.

An operating millage proposal for Bloomingdale Public Schools was struck down, while a Lawton Community Schools operating millage proposal overwhelmingly passed.
