A lawsuit has been filed against Chicago’s Navy Pier by the family of eight-year-old George Brewer of Grand Rapids because employees did not connect him to a safety rope when he was using a climbing wall in July. He fell around 25 feet due to not being tethered. His mom, Erin Brewer, says their sons wanted to climb the wall at Navy Pier a second time when George fell.

“They were begging to go back, so we went back the next night, July 27th, and our two younger sons went first and then it was George’s turn.”

He broke a femur, his pelvis, and suffered a concussion and will have his fifth surgery from the injury in January. There was no padding or net at the bottom of the wall.
