There have been a couple of changes to the membership of the Berrien County Board of Commissioners. At a meeting Thursday, Berrien County Clerk Sharon Tyler thanked Commissioner Ezra Scott and Commissioner James Martin, whose terms have come to an end.

“I want to thank Commissioner Scott and thank Commissioner Martin for serving and being a friend to me and the board of commissioners, and I wish you both the best,” Tyler said.

Tyler then read the oath to the two newly elected commissioners. They are Chokwe Pitchford and Alex Ott. Pitchford was elected to represent the Third District, which includes parts of Benton Township. Ott was elected to serve the Ninth District, which includes New Buffalo, Chikaming Township, and Bridgman.
