The Benton Harbor Area Schools Board of Education has extended the contract of Interim Superintendent Kevin Butts. He took over when Dr. Andrae Townsel left over the summer. At a meeting last week, the school board voted to extend the contract for Butts through June 30. His previous contract ran through the end of the year. According to The Herald Palladium, Butts received a rating of “effective” at his performance evaluation, also held last week. Butts was the principal of Fairplain Middle School before moving into the district’s top administrative position.
