Congressman Bill Huizenga will be in Berrien County on Friday. He told us this week he was looking forward to his visit to get to know local leaders, residents, and employers.
“I’ve been spending time in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek and Allegan, and we’re getting down to Berrien County,” Huizenga said. “I’m going to be meeting with some of the business leaders and community leaders. I’m still introducing myself to a lot of people. Obviously, this is Fred Upton’s hometown. He represented it for a very long time, and so we’re working to build some of those relationships up and just getting to know people and letting them get to know me.”
Huizenga was to meet with Sheriff Paul Bailey, representatives for Corewell Health, and the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber, among others. Huizenga is the representative of the new Fourth District, which covers northern Berrien County up to the Holland area.
