The victims of this week’s mass shooting at Michigan State University are being remembered. Thousands gathered on campus Wednesday for a candlelight vigil after three students were killed and at least five others were injured Monday night. MSU basketball coach Tom Izzo spoke.

“Shake somebody’s hand. Introduce yourself to someone you don’t know,” said Izzo. He added “that’s what we are, and that’s what we need to be at this time.”

Also speaking was Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who applauded the efforts of students and teachers who helped the wounded. The gunman was found dead by police from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after an hours long manhunt. Michigan State has canceled classes for the rest of the week.
