Two arrested after drug busts in BH, near New Buffalo Middle School

Two southwest Michigan men have been arrested after search warrants were executed in Benton Harbor and near a school in New Buffalo on Wednesday.

After executing a search warrant in the 1200 block of Broadway Avenue in the Benton Harbor, Detectives Detectives from the Southwest Enforcement Team West Office (SWET), Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety (BHDPS), Berrien County Tactical Response Unit (TRU Team) and deputies, and Michigan State Police (MSP) Niles post troopers arrested a 46-year-old Benton Harbor man for the following charges:

  • Delivery of cocaine
  • Possession of cocaine,
  • Felon in possession of three firearms
  • Use of a firearm in commission of a felony
  • Possession of a short-barrel shotgun
  • Possession of a stun gun
  • Maintaining a drug house.

Also on Wednesday, SWET detectives, along with Berrien County Sheriff deputies and New Buffalo PD executed a search warrant in the 1300 block of Bell Avenue, near the New Buffalo Middle School in the city of New Buffalo. There, detectives arrested a 45-year-old New Buffalo man for the following charges

  • Possession with intent to deliver crystal methamphetamine 2nd offense
  • Maintaining a drug house 2nd offense
  • Controlled substance delivery within 1000 feet of a school.
