Just after 4pm Friday afternoon, emergency personnel responded to an accident in the 56000 block of Red Arrow Highway between a truck and a motorcycle.

Van Buren County Sheriff Daniel Abbott reports that Deputies were dispatched to the area for a report of a personal injury traffic crash.

The investigation determined a 57-year old Kalamazoo man was riding a motorcycle west bound on Red Arrow Hwy and a 46-year old Covert Man was driving a truck pulling a trailer east bound on Red Arrow Hwy.

The truck attempted to make a left hand turn into a private driveway and struck the oncoming motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from his vehicle and sustained life threatening injuries. He was transported to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo where he later died from his injuries.

The preliminary investigation indicates that speed was not a factor in the crash. Names are being withheld pending the completion of the investigation.
