Berrien RESA is hard at work planning this year’s HEARTwork celebration. HEARTwork was started last year as a way for school personnel to be honored for their efforts on behalf of the community. RESA Superintendent Eric Hoppstock tells us the event at Lake Michigan College attracted hundreds of people and was a resounding success.

“It was so well received that the question that was most asked the day after was, ‘Are we going to do this again?’ So, we immediately began planning for this year.”

So, RESA’s doing it again. HEARTwork 2023 is set for May 4 at Lake Michigan College in the Mendel Center and will be similar to last year’s program.

“They cane in, they sat together, they laughed together, they played some cornhole, did some fun things, and then we went to the Mendel Center Main Stage to hear sort of an uplifting celebration message.”

Hoppstock says they hope to have even more people on hand this time around. Whether it’s teachers, bus drivers, media center staff, coaches, or administrators, RESA wants all educators to come and celebrate with food, games, and guest speaker Billy Ivey of Napkinisms.com fame. You can register to attend at BerrienRESA.org.
