Early fall enrollment numbers for Lake Michigan College have been encouraging so far. Vice President of Student Affairs Nygil Likely told the LMC Board of Trustees Tuesday they’ve got a busy orientation schedule set for next month. He told us students are signing up for the fall.

“Early indicators for fall enrollment as a result of some of the work the admissions team has been doing with some of the high schools, going into the high schools, we’re up about 55 students from this point last year,” Likely said. “So, early indicators are all positive.”

Likely said there’s that outreach to high school students and also the need for many workers to find new training.

“Positive growth after the pandemic is positive growth, so we’re excited about early indicators, and we’re watching the numbers each day to see what they’re doing and how people are responding to our new strategies.”

Likely said orientation will start June 6. That’s when incoming students and their families can spend a full day at LMC and hear from key departments about their services, get signed up for classes, and talk with faculty and staff.
