The Benton Harbor Farmer’s Market will resume for the year on June 21. The Berrien County Health Department’s Carla Smart-White tells us this is the 13th year for the market at Dwight P. Mitchell City Center Park.

“We’ll have vendors selling produce, entrepreneurs, we’ll have music playing, the YMCA and different resources there,” Smart-White said.

Smart-White says there will be community organizations on hand to tell people about their programs. The market always attracts a good crowd.

“The community really loves coming. It’s a time to learn about new recipes as they purchase new fruits and vegetables. It’s a time to meet people and gather.”

In addition to cash, the market supports food assistance programs like SNAP, Double Up Food Bucks, WIC, Senior Project FRESH, and Corewell Health Lakeland Prescription for Health. It will be held each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through September 13.
