Some local leaders are endorsing Republican gubernatorial candidate Michael Brown. The Michigan State Police captain and Berrien County resident has announced an endorsement from state Representative Beth Griffin of Mattawan. Griffin says Brown is “a seasoned community leader, and his passion to humbly serve is a fresh breath of air for the hardworking families of this state.” A couple of weeks ago, Berrien County Prosecutor Steve Pierangeli endorsed Brown, saying he’s worked with him multiple times and believes he has the work ethic and integrity to be governor. That’s after St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite endorsed Brown. Brown’s a military veteran and former Berrien County Commissioner who has been with the state police for 33 years.
