Now sworn into the Lake Michigan College Board of Trustees is Brian Dissette. He was sworn in as a member of the body Tuesday. The Berrien County Administrator and former South Haven City Manager tells WSJM News he wanted to give back to Lake Michigan College after it helped him.
“About 20 years ago, I had people from the college, from the county, from the community who were willing to take the time help me out as I was a grad student, and I hoped to have that same opportunity to help young people as they look at their careers, and hopefully I can steer them into public service,” Dissette said.
Dissette was appointed to fill a vacancy. He can run to be elected as a trustee in November, or his term runs out at the end of the year. He tells us he appreciates the opportunity to serve and looks forward to helping the community, along with the community college.
