Benton Harbor City Commissioners have approved a $595,000 contract for the resurfacing of Paw Paw Avenue. At a meeting this past week, commissioners hired LE Barber, Incorporated for the work that will involve milling and resurfacing along with curb and sidewalk ramp replacements on Paw Paw Avenue from Main Street to the Paw Paw River. The commission’s resolution says the work will start “as soon as possible” and be finished by August 4. The city has received a $346,000 state grant for the work, while the rest will be paid for with local income tax revenue.
