Police seek help to identify ‘Living Jane Doe’ found by hiker

The Michigan State Police Paw Paw Post is seeking help from the public to identify what they are calling a Living Jane Doe.

At around 6 p.m. Thursday, a hiker at the Al Sabo Land Preserve west of Kalamazoo in Texas Township found the unidentified woman, described as a 5-foot-2 black female, possibly in her 20s, weighing 155 pounds and was carrying a garbage bag of clothing. She had no identification and authorities said they were not able to effectively communicate with her.

She was transported to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo for medical care and evaluation. Numerous law enforcement and other state resources have also been deployed to help with identification.

Police are asking the public for any assistance identifying the individual or locating her family or caregiver. Anyone with information is asked to contact the MSP Paw Paw Post at  (269) 657-5551 or Kalamazoo Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100.
