It’s Small Business Month and many are still facing hiring challenges. Robert Half did a survey of more than 500 hiring managers at small companies. Recruiting manager Shannon Edlinger.

“89% of these folks face recruiting challenges,” Edlinger said. “87% of the hiring managers that Robert Half surveyed, missed out on a good hire, and 32% have just made very common hiring mistakes in the last year when it comes to hiring for their small businesses.”

Edlinger says some are struggling because it’s a highly competitive hiring environment and it’s hard for them to compete against larger companies. She says some small businesses put too much weight on technical skills when soft skills are important in a small business.
