A 15-year-old is dead after a shooting in Benton Harbor.
The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety says officers were called to a home in the 300 block of Brunson shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday on a report of a shooting. They arrived to find the 15-year-old Benton Harbor High School student with injuries. He was taken to Corewell Health South in St. Joseph for treatment and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police say the shooting is “an isolated matter and all persons involved have been identified and interviewed.” The name of the victim has not been released, and police say they have notified his family and Benton Harbor High School.
The investigation continues and will be referred to the Berrien County Prosecutor’s office when finished.
